Additional Modalities

Hot Stones

Hot Stones

Hot Stones

Hot stones are incorporated into the movements of the massage rather than being placed on specific areas of the body and left to sit. This allows treatment to combine massage therapy with the physiological response to heat.

Many patients find the added warmth makes treatment feel more comfortable and beneficial, particularly when working with tender or painful areas, as the heat can make those areas feel less sensitive during treatment.

The stones are held directly in the therapist’s bare hands while being used, ensuring there is no risk of too high of a temperature being used, even with those who prefer the stones as warm as possible.

IASTM

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization uses smooth handheld tools to apply targeted pressure and movement to the tissues. It is a quick and effective modality that can be incorporated into a regular massage treatment or used for most or even all of an appointment. Unlike more aggressive scraping techniques, Katherine's treatment is kept comfortable and is not intended to leave lasting redness or bruising.

IASTM can also be performed through the draping and without oil, making it easy to use on specific areas during treatment or a great benefit to those who don't like the sensation of gels or oils being used during a massage. When used for much of an appointment, some patients find it leaves them feeling less sluggish and more energized afterward than a traditional massage.

Policies

Late Cancellations & Missed Appointments

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. A late cancellation or missed appointment leaves a gap in the practitioner’s day that may not be filled, resulting in lost income.

We require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may be charged up to the full appointment fee (billed to the credit card on file).

We understand that unexpected situations and personal emergencies arise. If you need to cancel with short notice, please contact us as soon as possible so we have the best chance of filling the time.

Illness

Massage treatments are one-on-one in a small room, increasing the risk of spreading colds and flu. Protect practitioners and others by canceling at least 24 hours before your appointment if:

  • You are sick or symptomatic.
  • You haven’t been fully symptom-free for 48 hours post-illness.
  • An adult or young adult in your home became sick or showed symptoms in the last 48 hours (you may be contagious before symptoms appear).

Feeling better does not necessarily mean you are no longer contagious, or that an illness will be mild for someone else. Please reschedule rather than risk the practitioner’s health, income, or the health of other patients.

Scent Aware

To ensure a comfortable environment for all, we kindly request refraining from wearing perfume or cologne to your appointment. Strong scents can trigger migraines and nausea, impacting both subsequent clients and the therapist, potentially at the risk of being unable to treat.

If you have concerns regarding scents used in our treatments or have sensitivities yourself, please reach out to the clinic in advance. We strive to accommodate various sensitivities and will work to address your needs effectively. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Your health is an investment, not an expense.
