Direct billing means that a clinic submits your treatment receipts to your insurance company for reimbursement on your behalf, saving you the trouble. You are always responsible for paying for your treatment and must be prepared to cover the treatment costs if direct billing isn't available.
Just because you have insurance doesn't mean massage is included. As well, some carriers and plans provide massage coverage but not direct billing, this means that you can still see a registered massage therapist but you need to pay for the appointment then submit the receipt to your insurance company yourself afterwards. Please contact your insurance provider to find out.
Insurance does not cover missed appointments, so patients are responsible for covering the cost if an appointment is missed.
Due to the difficulty in dealing with ICBC, Brighten Massage can't accept patients with an open ICBC claim. If you are already a patient and have had an MVA, please reach out to your practitioner.
Anyone who gets in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and receives a claim number is automatically eligible for 12 weeks of care, and possible extensions, which includes acupuncture, chiropractic, counselling, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychology, and registered massage therapy.
Please check with ICBC for updated coverage amounts and know that ICBC also assists in travel treatment expenses.
Your health is an investment, not an expense.
